GPA Starts NOW!! Students...remember your GPA starts as a FRESHMAN. Don't wait until junior or senior year to kick it in gear. Do your best in school for all four years! You can do it.
The 1:1 laptop initiative has many positives, and the Internet is a wonderful tool for learning. However, students still need to be cautious about what is shared via social media sites. Parents, please help to monitor what your students are doing online. Here are some helpful links.

The Iowa Board of Regents has developed a "common application" that allows students to apply to more than one of the state's public universities. Students will be able to enter application info once and information will be shared with all three Regent universities to which the student is applying.

Biliteracy Seal - The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a district to recognize students who have attained proficiency in two or more languages, one of which is English, by high school graduation.
Silver Cord - Hampton-Dumont High School students who complete 200 hours of voluntary community service during four years of high school will wear the Silver Service Honor cord at graduation and their transcript will also reflect this accomplishment.
Graduating with Honors (Based on GPA) - Students will wear a cord at graduation and their transcript will also reflect this honor. Summa Cum Laude 3.9-4.0 (Gold), Magna Cum Laude 3.5-3.89 (Blue), *Cum Laude 3.0-3.49 (Orange)
Honors Diploma - Students with a 3.5 and the additional requirements of an Honors Diploma will wear a braided black and red cord at graduation and their transcript will also reflect this accomplishment.
